PVC coated cloth and PVC coated knife-scraped cloth are two common PVC coated fabrics, which are mainly used for waterproofing, shading, durability and other scenes, but they have obvious differences in production process, performance characteristics and application fields.

1. Different production process

PVC coated cloth:

It is made by directly coating PVC paste resin (containing plasticizer, stabilizer, etc.) on the surface of base cloth (such as polyester fiber, nylon cloth), and then curing it by high temperature baking.

The process is simple, the cost is low, and it is suitable for mass production.

PVC coated knife-scraped cloth:

The knife-scraping process is adopted: the liquid PVC slurry is evenly scraped on the base cloth, and a thicker coating is formed by multiple scraping (which may include primer, topcoat, etc.), and then cured by high temperature.

The process is more complicated, the coating thickness and uniformity are more controllable, and the finished product is more durable.

Application scenario

PVC coated cloth:

Lightweight waterproof tarpaulin, tent lining, advertising banner, simple awning, etc.

PVC coated scraper cloth:

High-strength applications: truck tarpaulins, inflatable buildings, large awnings, industrial soft tops, pool liners, etc.

Long-term outdoor use (UV and weather resistance).

If further performance optimization is required, both can be enhanced by adding UV, flame retardants, etc.
